Installing Office Web Components.
In order to run our models, some users will need to install a special version of 'Microsoft Office Web Components' - a bolt-on package included in earlier versions of Microsoft Office® but no longer included as standard. The components contained within are used by MSI's software to display charts and tables from model scenarios. This special version was released by Microsoft in March 2009 and has since been superceded, but MSI has retained a copy for users of our models to download from this site.
To find out if you need to install the above package, please try to install and run our models as sent to you. If you encounter an error message whilst opening the model, it is likely you will need to apply the patch. Please follow the below instructions to do this:
- For Windows XP/Vista (32 bit) users:
- Close Microsoft Excel®
- Click Here to install the latest standard version of Office Web Components from the Microsoft® website to ensure your system is properly configured.
- Download and unzip the contents of this file to 'C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Web Components\11' to replace the latest components with the special components retained by MSI.
- Open the Windows 'Run' utility by clicking the Windows key + R
- Type in the following text in its entirety and click 'OK':
Regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Web Components\11\OWC11.DLL"
- For Windows 7/Vista (64 bit) users:
