Tanker Shipping Planning Service (TSPS)

MSI's Tanker Shipping Planning Service (TSPS) model is a fully interactive menu-driven modelling system for the oil and tanker markets. It is a highly effective support tool for quantifying market exposure, whether as a risk taker or capital provider, and comprises:

• A platform to access easily and quickly historic and forecasted data for almost 3000 key tanker market annual timeseries
• A powerful analysis and simulation tool that allows the use of alternative assumptions to test market sensitivities and primary risks by modifying a wide range of macroeconomic, supply and demand inputs
• Evaluation of Project / Vessel cash flows, NPV, IRR and payback

The TSPS model provides historical and forecast time-series data from 1980 to 2020 for:

• Regional oil consumption, oil production and refinery capacity
• Regional imports and exports of crude oil and refined products
• Cargo volumes and deadweight demand by vessel size segment on 72 crude and 74 product bilateral trades
• Sector-specific fleet supply by size and age
• Explicit scrapping, cancellation and slippage assumptions
• Employment rates (fleet utilisation)
• Timecharter rates by segment
• Newbuild, secondhand (by age) and scrap prices by segment

TSPS is written on a Microsoft Excel® platform, and updates containing MSI's latest forecasts are distributed quarterly via an easily installable Microsoft Windows® installation package to coincide with the release of our quarterly TSPS market report. It is available as an annual subscription containing four updates a year, distributed via email.
